What I teach

I am a Social Studies Teacher for the Seventh and Eighth Grades.  

Classes I teach:

Geography- The study of the Earth and its people.  In this class students learn about the Interaction between the Earth and people. Students study climate, culture. The students will also practice map reading skills.

American History and Civics- The study of the American people. The class will focus on American history from 1750-1870, from the colonial era through the Civil War.  We focus on the American Revolution, Formation of Government, Western Movement, and the causes of the Civil War.  Civics is the study of Citizenship.  In this class we study the basic duties of citizens.  We study the basic documents of American Government, practice citizenship skills, and discuss how students can participate in government.
